European Trip - Day 1 - Paris

Hello Paris!! After a long and smooth flight, we landed in very good time! We went to leave our luggage at the hotel, a quick stop for lunch and onto the city center! We experienced our first train ride to reach the river banks… We came by the Latin quarter where we had lunch before going to the cite island where Paris was born, we saw the Sainte Chapelle, the flower market and the Saint Louis island, yes there is another island on the Seine! We were amazed by the flying buttresses of Notre Dame, how beautiful! We even had time to go inside. The Louvre was not so busy, we had a chance to enjoy the highlights like the Mona Lisa, the Venus of Milo, the Raft of the medusa, the slave by Michelangelo and sooo many other pieces… overwhelming … Quite a full day, we were happy to go for dinner in the artist village of Montmartre, goat cheese salad, steamed fish and gâteau au chocolat! How more French can we get? After all the excitement, time to rest, we still look great after over 30 hours of being awake… but there is a limit… we have walked over 20,000 steps today… we can have another chocolate crepe tomorrow !!

Neck brace free

After 11 days in a neck brace 24 hours a day (even sleeping and showering), Caleb got a clean bill of health.  Interesting way to finish up the football season.

Football injury

Caleb was able to take a trip with the squad to Childrens Hospital this morning after sustaining a neck injury at his football game. All is well after X-rays, he has to wear a neck brace for two weeks.

Thumbs up, all clear to go home with new head gear.
