Olentangy Caverns

Caleb was ready to go to his first day at pre-school. He met his new teacher Miss Becky and won a pencil for finding his name in the room. He is now part of the Turquise Turtles! Watch out world, Caleb is going to school!

First Day of School

Everyone was ready to go back to school. Chloe is now in 4th grade, Noah is now in 2nd grade, and Caleb is starting his last year of pre-school and already wants to skip a few grades!

40th Anniversary

I cannot believe we pulled it off! We had a surprise anniversary party for my parents in Akron and invited all their close friends. It was amazing how many of their friends came up to us before the party and told us that Mom had been in a bad mood the past two weeks since she thought we had totally forgotten about their 40th Wedding Anniversary! What a surprise!

4th of July Boat Parade

Celebrated the Annual 4th of July Boat Parade on Hoover Reservoir with Grandma and Grandpa. Our decorated boat came in first place. Chloe looked especially patriotic with her "little house on the prairie" look!

OBX 2008

Spent the last week of May in the Outerbanks of NC with the Cook family. We rented a beautiful house in Pine Island where we all had a great week swimming in the pool and going to the beach. We also had a chance to search out the wild Spanish mustangs!

Kings Weekend in Tahoe

Snowtrails

This past Saturday Chloe and Noah hit the ski slopes for the first time at Snowtrails in Mansfield. They attended the Cricketeer ski camp for kids. The kids skiied from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM with ski instructors. What a great way to get introduced to skiing. On the way home they asked when we could go again!

Watoto African Children's Choir

This past Sunday night our family went to the Watoto African Children's Choir concert at Westerville Christian Church. What an amazing choir consisting of 18 boys and girls (8 to 12 years old) from Uganda, Africa. The children are orphans due to their parents passing away from AIDS. Watoto is a ministry that exists to rescue the orphans and give them a community to live in that consists of safe homes, Watoto Moms, schools, and medical assistance. It is a great story and the choir tours the nation spreading the news of what the ministry has accomplished. During the concert the kids tell their life stories. If you have a chance to see this group I would strongly recommend it.

Expert of the Day

Noah was Expert of the Day at school and decided to educate his class on the guitar. He explained to the class the parts of the instrument and then demonstrated how he plays his notes. Soon he plans to play his first song! He credits his teacher, Mr. Chilcote, for his successful presentation!

New Year's Eve

As 2007 came to a close we celebrated the introduction of 2008 with the Cooks and the Brooks. With eight kids running around the house at the strike of midnight, it gave us the first glimpse of what 2008 will have in store for our family. We all had a great time eating appetizers and white chili, playing dress up, and playing the Wii bowling!

Christmas in Akron

This year the Denorme grandkids took a family picture during Thanksgiving.

We went to Akron for the day to visit Oma and Opa for Christmas. As usual the grandkids had a great time visiting each other. Cousin Drew enjoyed watching all the commotion as the other kids opened their gifts.
